Lent at Christus Victor - A time to come together in worship and in silence as we walk with our Savior through the last days and hours of his life, give thanks for His incredible sacrifice and learn of His wondrous love for us.

A Time of Reflection...
In the fast-paced world we live in, our often hectic lives make it easy to not truly take the time to reflect on God's constant presence in our lives. God is with us in all aspects of our lives, but we are often too busy to appreciate the incredible significance of that constant loving presence. During Lent, church provides the opportunity for time, with others and alone, to remember and renew the feeling of God in our daily lives. Sunday worship will have a special feel, a special focus this season. The first setting will be used, and moments of praise will be replaced with moments of reflection. Our times of corporate worship are one of the most significant opportunities we have to share in a common expression of our constant need for God in our lives and to feel God's presence in the company of our brothers and sisters in faith.

Lent Wednesday Nights

Lenten Agape Dinners

6:00 p.m. - Wednesday nights during Lent this year will take us back to the form of worship that was the norm during New Testament times: the Agape meal. We will celebrate as those in the early church did, by gathering together to worship and to share a meal as brothers and sisters in Christ. At 6:00 p.m. we will gather in the Fellowship hall for a simple liturgy of responsive reading, prayer, and scripture reading which will lead us to a simple meal (i.e. soup, salad, and bread) provided by the various Agape groups. While we eat, members of the Church Council will lead a discussion of a number of their favorite parables. The evening worship will then close with responsive reading and prayers. What better way to learn and grow together than to share this time with one another. Please join us as we share our faith, our fellowship, and our food, celebrating our lives as the church by remembering the earliest and most simple form of worship, the communal meal.
